Healthy Family Day
"A healthy family is a wealthy family!"
The Center for Self-Sufficiency and the Milwaukee Fatherhood Collaborative presented "Healthy Family Day" in honor of Black Marriage Day. This FREE event took place on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Mary Ryan Boys and Girls Club, which is located at 3000 N. Sherman Blvd. Invitations encouraged the entire family to come out to celebrate healthy lifestyles and relationships through food, prizes, games, resources and health screenings! About the Originators of Black Marriage Day
The Wedded Bliss Foundation birthed a national initiative called “Black Marriage Day” to encourage the community to cherish and celebrate African American marriages while inspiring more to make the same commitment. The true benefits of marriage seem to be well-kept secrets from members of the African-American community. The Wedded Bliss Foundation believes happy marriages can solve numerous problems in the Black community and is committed to providing resources, support and direction so happy marriages become the norm rather than the exception.
